There have been many science fiction shows on air, some were successful, some never made it past the first season. However, few have any spawned a successful series of media tie-ins. Babylon 5 created something new: these media tie-ins would actually be used to enhance the story arc of the series. After a rather bumpy start, it seems that jms has succeded.
