Tomorrow the update's information will revert to the color of the rest of the page. Only updates will be in this color. Hopefully this will help you identify NEW items.

WELCOME NEW READERS

Please, get comfortable! Take your shoes off and stay a while.

There is a LOT of information contained there and you'll not want to miss anything. If you have questions, drop me a line at sgbruckner@aol.com or bruckner@isnnews.net.

Again, WELCOME!

What's New

Robin Atkin Downes had a great time in Germany recently -- doing FedCon with Jerry Doyle and Rick Biggs. He dropped me a couple of pictures and they are in the Photo Gallery!

June birthdays are out! If your favorite cast member is on the list, be sure to drop them a note or card! Have we missed anyone? If so, let me know who we should add to the list.

Ranger Eric has given us a new graphic! Thank You, Eric! If anyone would like to use that as a link to The Zocalo, it's fine with me! The more folks who come to visit -- the happier we all are!

There have been some improvements over at the Top Cow website. They have a nice listing for Rising Stars, along with information about upcoming issues. (I've cut and pasted the next few issues into the Rising Stars info section below.) The store includes a lot of the different variant issues of the comic book.

Haven't seen Issue #8 yet, but it should be out shortly.

Regent

DAMIAN LONDON

I had the most delightful chat with Damian London the other day. He portrayed the Regent of Centauri Prime and he's an absolutely superb actor. He had me rolling on the floor for our 30-minute talk -- and he'll be coming in for a chat with fans soon, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, I've put together a webpage for Damian. You can find it at Damian London. His resume is extensive -- and I'm sure we hear him all the time in commercials and are just not aware that it's his voice!

THANK YOU NOTE TO SFC

The second Thank You note to SFC will go out in today's mail. Thank You to all who sent in their names for the letter. I hope it shows SFC that the fanbase is really behind them as they bring Babylon 5 to us in September! Now if they would only open up a website for us!

The original listing can be found at Thanks to SFC! A line break shows where the original listing stopped and the new one starts.

LETTER TO WARNER BROS. RE VIDEOS

Columbia House and Warner Home Video have ceased distribution of Babylon 5 on video. This decision stranded a number of B5 Fans with incomplete sets of their favorite series. Below is a petition that will be sent to WB to show that we indeed WANT OUR VIDEOS!

Even if you are not collecting the entire set, I hope you'll add your name to the petition, since I it would be wonderful to have the whole set available -- just in case you want the very one that is NOT in the collection, so far. Can you imagine NOT having a copy of SLEEPING IN LIGHT!!!!

To add your name to the petition, drop me your name and city/state to sgbruckner@aol.com. The petition can be found at Video Petition.

NEW JERRY DOYLE MAILING LIST

Jerry Doyle is running for the US Congress to represent the 24th District of California. He strongly supports issues important to all of us -- education for our children and protection of the environment. His website at http://www.doyleforcongress.com has been updated with issue papers, events, endorsements and more data will be added soon.

A special mailing list has been created to keep individuals up-to-date on Jerry's activities. It will carry press releases and information on special events and personal appearances. To subscribe to Jerry's mailing list, simply send an e-mail message to doyleforcongress-subscribe@egroups.com. That is all that is necessary. If you have trouble subscribing to the group, drop a note to sgbruckner@aol.com and you can be added directly to the listing.

JOE'S COMICS

Joe has said that his first issue of Joe's Comics -- Midnight Nation has been slated for September. What will it be about?

"It's a contemporary story that doesn't really fit most categories...maybe magic realism comes closest, dark fantasy maybe...it sets some of the tropes of the dark fantasy genre against a modern setting, with a police officer on a quest to recover something taken from him, a search which shows him a side of the country usually not seen, the hidden doors and secret places only glimpsed out of the corner of the eye...."

DRAGON CON SCHEDULE

DragonCon's latest schedule for Babylon 5 panels and presentations is out at Dirk's website http://america.net/~judge/dcon00.html. Looks Great. Peter Woodward will be talking about his new film "The Patriot"! Saw previews of the movie this weekend. It looks outstanding!

I'm giving two or three presentations plus showing the bloopers. Those are always very enjoyable. My behind the scenes presentation is starting to look like some old home movies! Should be fun!

CALLING ALL ARTISTS

I would like to open up an art gallery here at The Zocalo Today. There are a tremendous number of talented people out there who participate in art shows at conventions, etc. I would love to display your work here. If you would like to share your work with us at The Zocalo Today, please send along a digital photo of your work and I'll begin putting the gallery together. If you do not have your work in digital format, drop me a note and we'll see what we can work out.

We have our first submissions. Check out Art Gallery.

NEW AMAZING STORIES ARTICLE

The Summer 2000 issue (#602) of Amazing Stories will feature a story by J. Michael Straczynski entitled "Space, Time, and the Incurable Romantic". This is the third story done by JMS for the magazine and features Marcus Cole! According to their website, the issue goes on sale June 26. The URL is www.wizards.com/Amazing.

If you want me to pick up a copy for you, let me know now!

JMS SPEAKS

JMS CONVENTION APPEARANCES

"Yes, I'm going to be at the Wizard Chicago Comic Convention (formerly Chicago Comic Con) -- August 4-6 -- to talk about Rising Stars, Joe's Comics, and any other projects that I can talk about at that time."

JMS will also be at GenCon -- August, Milwaukee, Wisconsin (information on the conventions can be found on the con calendar.)

I have updated the JMS Speaks page. Items included: ratings for the Murder She Wrote Movie, Babylon 5 on DVD! And a lot more!

KEEPING UP WITH CAST AND CREW

Fiona Avery has been asked to write a Babylon 5 story for the Amazing Stories Spring 2001 issue.

Claudia Christian will be doing a special signing at JumpGate, a science fiction store in Portsmouth, NH July 6-7. The signing benefits victims of domestic violence. For more information, visit Jumpgate's website at www.jumpgatelink.com. Hector Diaz is the owner and a great guy.

Carrie Dobro is appearing in "Communicating Doors" at the American Heartland Theatre, 2450 Grant Avenue, Kansas City, MO. Call 816-842-9999 for details.

Evan Chen has his own MP3 site at http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/113/alien_ear.html.

Bruce Boxleitner's episode of "Outer Limits" will air on June 30.

Speaking of Bruce, he recently celebrated his 50th birthday! Congrats, Bruce! A few fans got together and created a webpage for this special day. Happy Birthday, Bruce!.

MAIL FOR CAST AND CREW

The Babylon 5 Fan Club has tried to keep mail going out to the cast and crew, but it is becoming increasingly hard, since people have pretty much scattered and the Club is not always in touch. Rather than sending mail to the Fan Club to be forwarded to the cast member, please begin using any regular fan clubs for the cast.

Here's a recent not from JMS on the subject:

As an aside to folks in general...mail to the cast should these days be sent via their respective fan clubs. As folks have scattered to the four winds, it's become increasingly difficult for the B5 fan club to track people down and get mail to them, and there are often long delays. And we don't really have the staff to handle a lot of this stuff.

JMS' mail can be sent to:

Sherman Oaks, CA 91423

FAN CLUB MERCHANDISE

Comes the Inquisitor Fall of Night

SCRIPTS FOR JUNE

The Babylon 5 Fan Club has two fantastic season two scripts for you this month. They are: "Comes the Inquisitor" and "The Fall of Night". The scripts are available in The Emporium at www.thestation.com.

OFFICIAL BABYLON 5 MAGAZINES

With the publication coming to an end with issue #24, you'll want to make sure that you have the issues you most care about -- or the entire set. The Fan Club has most of the issues in quantity, so check out The Emporium and pick out the issues you need. Don't know which ones you are missing, let the reference page here at The Zocalo help you out. It has a full index of the magazine so that you can see who was featured and what stories were covered. If you have any other questions about the magazine, just drop me a line.

The Fan Club has most of the back issues of the magazine over at www.thestation.com in The Emporium. Issues #22 and #23 have been added to the listing of available issues. They also have the much sought after Issue #1, Volume #1. So be sure to check out ISN and see what magazines you still need to complete your set.

Cine-Mag

CINEFANTASTIQUE -- JUNE ISSUE

The magazine is MARVELOUS!!! If you get any magazine this year, it should be this one! It is one of the most complete treatments of the series I've ever seen. It not only has some great interviews with cast and crew, but it takes every episode of the series, has a brief synopsis and memorable quote. This combination of narrative about the show and comments from the individuals directly involved with it provides you with nice background of the series. While it can be considered a bit pricey at $11.95, I think it's worth every cent -- and then some!

NEW ACTION FIGURES

Here are the latest action figures from N2Toys. This set of four action figures includes Captain Elizabeth Lochley of the Earth Alliance, the Drazi Freehold Ambassador, The Gaim Intelligence Ambassador and, of course, Psi Cop Alfred Bester. You can see the figures at Fandom.com Store.

BABYLON 5 CHATS

Pat Tallman and Jeffrey Willerth have a chat room at their site Starglaziers. You can also get there through Pat Tallman's site.

There are a couple of regular chats that you might want to take advantage. One is over at About.com. Mike Helba has organized a weekly chat on Wednesdays at 10pm EST. http://babylon5.about.com/entertainment/babylon5/mpchat.htm.

This Sunday, there will be a chat at Groucho's Babylon 5 Calvalcade beginning at 5:30pm ET. Groucho's is a good place to drop over and chat anytime.

REFERENCE PAGES

I've updated the B5 index . This page covers magazines like DreamWatch, TV Zone, StarBurst and others that have covered Babylon 5 and Crusade over the last several years. This index will expand as I add more issues and new magazines.

The Official Babylon 5 Magazine is indexed here as well. With the closure of the magazine in May, you'll want to see which magazines you have -- and which ones you will want to collect. The index may help you make a decision on which ones to choose. The Fan Club has many of the issues at thestation.com , making it very easy to complete your collection.

If you have magazines that have featured Babylon 5 or Crusade that are not listed, send along their issue number and a note to indicate what the article was about. It would be nice to have a fairly comprehensive listing of Babylon 5 publications here.

SEND A B5 POSTCARD

Warner Bros. has a Babylon 5 postcard delivery service on their site at Babylon 5 Cards. Send a note to a friend to say Happy St. Patrick's Day or just to say HI.

BABYLON 5/CRUSADE IN PRINT

OFFICIAL BABYLON 5 MAGAZINE - Issue #23 . Claudia Christian talks about her current projects and her life as Susan Ivanova. Fiona Avery has an original short story entitled "True Seeker" and Joe Nazzaro continues his "Making of Babylon 5" -- looking at season four! Endgame is the episode included in this month's Station Log and Lou Anders finishes up the JPL Connection. Don't forget the wonderful Babylon 5 Chronology. There are another 15 pages in this issue!

THIS WEEK'S DISCUSSION TOPIC

Since we've been concentrating on Babylon 5, let's shift a bit and talk about Crusade. What was your favorite episode -- and why?

Send in your responses to either The Zocalo or b5web@aol.com.. You can also post your comments on the message board at www.isnnews.net/board. Follow this link to Current Discussion Topic page.

CALLING ALL CLUBS

There are a number of fabulous Babylon 5/Crusade Clubs around the world. I'd like to begin listing them here on The Zocalo Today. Eric dropped me a note the other day providing information about a Club in France. I know there are other clubs in Brazil, Germany, Russia -- and who knows how many here in the US. Let's get a listing together. Perhaps we can share resources, even get together as we travel around. Drop the information about your Club to me at sgbruckner@aol.com or bruckner@isnnews.net. That information will be added to the new B5 Fan Club Listing.

So far, we have clubs listed from France, Germany and Italy! That's fantastic. Let's hear from others -- even those in the U.S.!!!

BABYLON 5/CRUSADE CONVENTIONS

Convention Alert -- WARNING!!!

Northeast SuperCon - Here's an update on this convention.

Michael O'Hare, Stephen Austin, Peter David and I have been removed from the guest list. Majel Roddenberry, Richard Arnold and Mojo's names have been taken off as well. I've gotten a couple of notes explaining what happened at the website -- too easy to point fingers! Bottom line is that no guest should be listed at a convention site unless there is clear negotiations underway or a contract is in hand!

CONVENTION UPDATES

Ranger Ed has passed along additional information about the Hollywood Expo, June 24-25, 2000; Plano, TX. Bob Krimmer has been added to the roster of guests for Saturday and Sunday.

As a special Expo bonus, Ms Christian and Mr Krimmer will perform the very funny comedy "Hate Mail". (performed Saturday evening at 7:30pm after the convention closes) A portion of the ticket sales will benefit Operation Christmas Child. OCC provides gifts to children who have no toys. In a time where we celebrate collecting toys, its nice to ensure that children around the world will receive their very first present. Advance tickets are $19.95. If any tickets remain, they will be higher at the door. Come see what these guys do best, ACT, and for what Robert Krimmer calls, "a hilarious evening of silliness". Also we will be hosting the Southwest Regional Championship tournament for the Babylon 5 Collectible Card Game on Saturday with players from all over the region coming to play. In addition, we will be having demos of the B5CCG on Sunday for anyone who wants to give it a try but never has.

CONVENTION ATTENDANCE
