Elric is elected to the Circle, the youngest mage to reach this position. When he is told of the Shadow origins of their technology, he argues with the other members of the Circle without success, to reveal this information to the techno-mages. Like those before him he is sworn to secrecy.

Tuesday December 3rd. John Sheridan marries his fiancee Anna, his sister Elizabeth's friend.

Revelations, In The Shadow Of Z'ha'dum and The Shadow Within. Sheridan says for the past 10 years, his wife and his career were all that mattered to him.

Authorisation for construction on Babylon 2 is given. Thomas Jordan is hired again as a construction worker. When he takes leave, the construction is sabotaged and has to be abandoned.

Susan Ivanova breaks off her passionate affair with her boyfriend Malcolm Biggs, when she accepts a transfer to the Earth Alliance outpost at Io. Although she is excited by this big career move, she cries herself to sleep for the first few months.

The War Prayer. Ivanova and Malcolm broke up 8 years ago.

On Io, Susan Ivanova serves under Commander John Sheridan, who gets to see first hand her dislike of telepaths when she throws one out of a third story window into an "ample" pool below.

Talia Winters is assigned senior trainee Matt Stoner to help her adjust to the rigors of Psi Corps training. She finds him charming and sympathetic.

Robert Black, his girlfriend Emma, a man called Tim and others volunteer for a series of illegal covert cyber experiments. Robert watches people he cares about, who also volunteered, go through convulsions, sickness, body shock and trauma as they adapt to the cyber organic compounds in their blood and cybernetic implants. All the participants carry on in the program because they are young, all career military and all believe in its aims.

After Elizabeth Lochley’s mother dies, she is left to go through the house and figure out what to sell and what to keep. Going through the attic she finds paintings of landscapes and portraits, beautiful work and all with her father’s signature on them. Her father tells her it was the one thing he loved other than his wife, and when he enlisted in EarthForce he stopped painting even though he was good at it. All he ever wanted to do was paint, but he joined EarthForce like his father and his father before him because it was expected of him. Not being able to paint was killing him, and because he didn’t see any way out of his life, he was driven to drink because of it.

Over President Levy’s objections, the Senate votes to cut off supply shipments to Mars in retaliation for its neutrality during the war.

Learning of the death of her fellow techno-mage Craiselnek, Burell travels to the next system and arriving ahead of the Circle, removes some of Craiselnek’s implants to study before her body is cremated.

The Free Mars movement starts gaining strength. Their peaceful protests turn violent, and they begin using force of arms in their struggle for Mars independence. Amanda Carter leaves the organisation, ending her relationship with Abel Horn.

A Voice In The Wilderness. The Psi Corps rep says Free Mars has been gaining strength for nearly a decade. Spider In The Web reveals Amanda left the organisation when they turned to violence.

Laurel Takashima graduates the academy and is assigned to Mars Colony security. When she learns that officers have to buy their promotions from the Sector Captain, she refuses to pay her way through the ranks. Consequently Laurel stops caring, breaks rules and puts peoples lives at risk.

Lieutenant Commander Sinclair is assigned to the EarthForce base on Mars.

The Gathering, Infection, Shadows, Past And Present and To Dream in The City Of Sorrows.

Lieutenant Commander Sinclair meets Laurel Takashima. Seeing the problems she has, he promises that if she starts fighting within the rules, he would get her a promotion. Afterwards, Laurel's attitude changes as she does what Sinclair asks.

The Gathering. Laurel describes how things changed for her after meeting Sinclair.

January-April. The Food Riots break out on Mars and EarthForce are sent in to deal with the situation, brutally suppressing the Riots and imposing a provisional government directly accountable to Earth. Here John Sheridan and Jeffrey Sinclair meet.

Thomas Jordan is hired to work on the building of Babylon 3. An explosion irreparably damages the station during its construction. Thomas begins to think he is a curse on the stations, so his co workers nickname him "Jinxo".

Friday April 3rd. Earth colony three, Orion system. At 1205a.m. Charles Dexter The Black Rose Killer, so named after the black roses he left on the bodies of his female victims, is sentenced to death of personality when found guilty of murdering nine women. After the sentence is carried out Dexter, now known as Edward, is held in a transit centre. The relatives of the victims, unhappy with the original sentence, try to find Edward and punish him themselves. Some time later, a fire sweeps through the centre and Edward escapes.

After the Food Riots, Commander Sheridan is transferred to the EarthForce Orion Command District on various assignments.

When Psi Corps discover Talia Winters and Matt Stoner are genetically compatible with a high probability of producing offspring of equal or greater telepathic strength, they are married. After the marriage, Stoner participates in a secret experiment to modify his telepathic ability, that scrambles his neural pathways and almost kills him. When he comes round he finds he has gained empathic abilities, Stoner leaves the Corps and his marriage to Talia is anulled. No one in authority will talk to her about why he left.

Talia Winters begins an affair with her instructor Jason Ironheart.

Conjecture, from Mind War.

Robert Black’s girlfriend Emma is scheduled to have her eyes replaced by enhanced night vision and ultra violet spectrum receptors. The ranking officers controlling the experiments feel it will give them an edge on alien worlds. During the operation, something goes wrong and Emma dies on the table. Her death takes all of Robert’s hopes and dreams and all the best parts from him. Shortly afterwards word begins leaking out about the operations and EarthForce Bioweapons Division shut the program down, buying the participants silence. Over the coming years Robert keeps in touch with Tim and the others, even when EarthGov have forgotten about them. Their comradeship helps Robert find hope again.

Michael Garibaldi moves to Mars, where he runs a no questions asked shuttle flights service.

Babylon Squared. Garibaldi came to Mars 5 years before leaving for Babylon 5. His running a shuttle flights service from Shadows Past And Present and Messages from Earth.

January. Del Varner begins Tech Running, dealing in illegal technology.

The Gathering. Varner began Tech Running 5 years ago.

Construction is authorised on the biggest of the Babylon stations, Babylon 4. To avoid any sabotage attempts, the station design incorporates two large ion engines, allowing it to be moved. Thomas Jordan is hired to work on station construction.

Grail, Babylon Squared and In Valen's Name.

Abel Horn is sentenced to the Phobos Maximum Security Prison for his involvment in the computer theft of over fifty million Mars Conglomerate credits. He serves 1 year at the facility.

Edward, the former Charles Dexter with his new memories intact, joins the Apostolic monastery at New Mallory led by Brother Theo Ankises. The monks are unaware of Edward's previous life, as their limited resources would not allow a background check on him. Brother Theo comes to describe Edward as a kind gentle soul, and a selfless member of the order for his hard work and the comfort he gives to others. He presents him with the gift of a simple shoulder bag.

Passing Through Gethsemane. Edward joined the order 8 years ago.

G'Kar ascends to the Third Circle of the Kha'Ri, the Narn ruling body. Later G'Kar humilliates his old adversary Du'Rog in front of the Kha'Ri, ruining his family's name.

The Parliament Of Dreams. G'Kar has been on the Kha'Ri for 5 years.

The Drazi supply Raiders with weapons, ships, equipment and support, allowing them to attack all the independent worlds along their borders. Stealing food and other resources, the Raiders divide their plunder equally with the Drazi. Among the worlds hit by Raiders is the Enfili home world, they destroy their cities and fields, imprison and kill their leaders.

The Paragon Of Animals. The attacks began 10 years ago.

April. Talia Winters joins the Psi Corps Intern program to train as a commercial telepath, specialising in criminal cases.

Conjecture from Divided Loyalties. Talia was a year ahead of Lyta Alexander, assumes she meant an academic year. She and Lyta spent 6 months together on the program while Lyta was training for the Psi Cops. Death Walker and The Quality of Mercy reveals she specialises in criminal cases. Epiphanies suggests the Intern program lasts about a year.

Rebo of Rebo and Zooty fame hears his partner, who never breaks character even around him, say one word without his machine, "Why". Rebo is unable to figure out what Zooty means.

Tuesday October 18th. Having spent a few years in the commercial field, Lyta Alexander rejoins the Psi Corps Intern program, but still freelances for XenoCorp. Training with the Psi Cops, she later works as a field assistant to Alfred Bester, who learns something about her past she doesn't want known. Lyta spends 6 months on the program with Talia Winters and the two become close for a while.

Susan Ivanova is transferred from Io to an EarthForce facility back on Earth. While stationed there, she takes an interest in and follows the work being done by Dr Stephen Franklin.

Sunday April 16th. After serving 3 months at the Lunis Planum Prison Base, Abel Horn escapes.

Dr Mary Kirkish and an I.P.X. team are following up rumours about ancient artefacts buried beneath the surface of Mars, when their sonic probes register a large return three hundred feet beneath Syria Planum. The team uncover a Shadow vessel buried in the Martian soil. Exposed to the light, the vessel emits a coded signal. One of the team touches the craft with his bare hand and dies instantly, as if the life were sucked out of him. The I.P.X. team inform Earth Central, who say nothing until a week later when the team are ordered back to their secondary camp two miles away. Those who didn't comply would be sacked from I.P.X. Kirkish and the team watch as unmarked shuttles move in and out of the dig. Over the next 6 days, specialists from EarthForce New Technologies Division, Morden among them come in and take samples from the Shadow vessel and place a beacon on it. Representatives from Psi Corps’ Department Sigma also go to the site. One telepath, McDwyer, who scans the vessel has his mind affected. On the 6th day, all activity stops suddenly and Kirkish witnesses the arrival of a second Shadow vessel. It seems to fire on the grounded craft and descends into the dig. Nothing happens for 20-25 minutes, then a loud scream echoes across the Planun and both Shadow vessels depart. Afterwards, Kirkish and the others are warned not to talk about what they had seen, or there would be unfortunate consequences. The team are split up and given different assignments to ensure they didn't talk.

Messages From Earth. Kirkish recounts her involvment in finding the Shadow vessel. Deadly Relations:Bester Ascendant reveals what happened to McDwyer and The Shadow Within tells of Morden’s involvment. Anna Sheridan elaborates on the activity at the dig in Z'ha'dum.

Lieutenant Commander Jeffrey Sinclair accompanied by Lieutenants Sanchez and Foster charter Michael Garibaldi's shuttle to investigate rumours of covert alien/human activity. During the course of the flight, the shuttle malfunctions and crashes, killing Lieutenant Foster and breaking Sanchez's leg. Sinclair and Garibaldi are forced to walk fifty miles to the nearest settlement for help when they witness the grounded Shadow vessel being cut from the Martian soil and retrieved by a second Shadow vessel. After they are rescued, Garibaldi returns to the site and finds no trace of the recovery operation. He does however find a bent and charred Psi Corps insignia which he keeps.

Messages From Earth, Shadows Past And Present and Infection chronicle the shuttle crash and Garibaldi and Sinclair witnessing the Shadow vessels during their fifty mile hike.

After listening to what his now dead Cadre Prime companion Brett warned him about, Psi Cop Alfred Bester begins watching out for Department Sigma activites.

Lieutenant Commander Sinclair gives an interview to ISN. Before going on air, he is told to relax and say what he feels. Shortly after the interview airs he is reassigned to an EarthForce deep range outpost.

Wednesday July 12th. John Sheridan is involved in an embarrasing incident this date. His friend Jack Maynard is sworn to secrecy about it.

Learning that the telepath McDwyer has attacked people and holed up in the Tharsis Hotel, Alfred Bester and a bloodhound unit responds to the call. As they wait to go in, Ms Donne warns Bester that Department Sigma has arrived. Going in, Bester confronts McDwyer wanting to know what has happened. McDwyer lets himself be scanned and Bester is barely able to block the nightmare images flooding his mind. Pushing harder to defend himself Bester causes a blood hemorrhage in McDwyer and he dies. Confronted by Department Sigma agents, Bester goes to the facility at Syria Planum. Using his clearances he is shown footage of the Shadow vessel recovery.

A lack of concern from the authorities on Beta Colony over the murder of commercial telepaths forces Psi Cops including Alfred Bester and his newly assigned field assistant Lyta Alexander, to start their own investigation. They perform illegal scans on suspects until they find the killer. Unable to report him to the police because of how they found him, they plant a nightmare deep in his subconscious mind. Driven insane and committed to an institution on Beta Colony, he is locked up 24 hours a day in a straight jacket to prevent him from scratching his eyes out to stop a nightmare only he can see. After the incident, Lyta switches back to commercial practice, picking up again with XenoCorp.

Before her graduation, Talia takes her telekinetic test. She tries for days to move an old penny with her mind with no success.

Talia Winters is assigned to Mars Colony. In the Corps facility at Syria Planum, she and others are unwitting participants in a covert Sleeper Program, undergoing drug treatments and deep scans to implant alternate personalities loyal to the Corps in their subconscious minds. The subjects are unaware of the alternate personalities, which are able to defend themselves if threatened, and are activated by sending a password directly into the brain. When this is done, the subjects original personalities are destroyed and the new ones take over. Sleepers are placed in key positions within EarthGov, secretly reporting intelligence to the Corps.

Spider In The Web establishes Talia was assigned to Mars Colony after the academy. The Quality Of Mercy, Talia has been scanning minds for the past 5 years. Divided Loyalties, assumes Talia underwent the treatment when she was first assigned to Mars. Lyta Alexander outlines what she learned about the program.

A group of Raiders begin saving their stolen credits to buy a vessel large enough to create it's own jump point, enabling them to expand their raiding operation.

Signs And Portents. The Raiders have spent 5 years saving for their ship.

Michael Garibaldi begins acquiring the parts of a 1992 model Kawasaki Ninja ZX11 motorcycle, intent on rebuilding one of the best performance bikes of it's time.

Eyes. Garibaldi began rebuilding the bike 5 years ago.

G’Kar’s liason with a female Narn produces a baby girl. Her mother names her G’Ryka. As is required, her birth details are registered in the Narn genetic record. G’Kar is unaware of his daughter’s existence.

True Seeker. G’Ryka is 16 Earth years old.

Studying the bio organic mass that made up Craiselnek’s implants, Burell finds that they are made up of stem cells containing DNA from the host techno-mage and unknown DNA. The cell growth is directed by the microcircuitry embedded in the cytoplasm and the cell membranes, mirroring their own nervous systems. She also discovers clumps of microcircuitry akin to ganglia, connected by neurons. Along with biochip sensors, transceivers, relays and capacitors, some of the cells develop into organic factories that produce the organelles in their system. While most of the transceivers are located in the brain, neck, shoulders and upper spinal column, Burell finds one located at the bottom of the spine. Experimenting sending different signals to it, an elaborate and intense radio signal activates the transceiver and it gives a complex reply. Nothing happens to the tech until Burell sends the signal again. The transceiver doesn’t respond a second time and some of the implants go inert. She puts this down to the tech being outside the body for so long.

The Narn Regime set up a military installation in Quadrant 37, in neutral territory between Narn and Centauri space.

Chrysalis. The outpost was set up nearly 5 years ago.

The explorer vessel Cortez under the command of Jack Maynard, begins a 5 year mission charting Sectors out on the Rim.

Alfred Bester's wife Alisha gives birth to a baby girl.

A Race Through Dark Places. Bester's daughter is 5 years old.

Talia Winters has the most frightening experience of her life, when she scans the mind of a serial killer on Mars Colony.

Death Walker. Talia performed the scan 4 years ago.

William Edgars, head of Edgars Industries is concerned by the growing threat posed by telepaths to the freedom, privacy, civil liberties and the future of normal human beings. He orders his off world research laboratories to develop a virus that is fatal to telepaths but harmless to non telepaths.

The Face Of The Enemy. Edgars says the anti viral agent took 3 years to develop, almost as long as the virus itself. His comments suggest the virus took about 4 years to develop.

Psi Cop Alfred Bester takes on the training of Psi Cop intern Byron Gordon, making him his protege.

Conjecture, from Phoenix Rising. Assumes Bester took Byron under his wing after Lyta changed careers. Byron’s last name from his Omega Squadron flight patch.

History is made when Babylon 4 comes on line, overseeing the final stages of construction is Major Lewis Krantz. Allies of the Shadows recognising the station from the Great War, attempt to destroy it with a fusion bomb but are thwarted by the White Star, having travelled back in time from 2260. The fusion bomb's detonation pulse blinds the Babylon 4 sensors, but the shock wave damages Sheridan's stabiliser and he is propelled 24 years into the future. With EMP from the blast providing cover for the White Star to attach itself to the station, Sinclair, Zathras and the others begin to set up the means of taking Babylon 4 back in time. Sheridan reappears and as he and Sinclair are attaching the time jump equipment to the station's fusion reactor, a power surge accidentally activates it. Sheridan is lost in time again as the station is propelled 4 years into the future.

Babylon Squared and War Without End chronicles the station's disappearance.

Construction worker Thomas Jordan finally decides it is safe to leave, now the station has come on line without incident. As his shuttle departs Babylon 4, he looks back and sees the station disappear into the time rift.

Grail. Thomas describes how he witnessed the station disappear.

Resisting the temptation for a year, Burell finally sends the signal to her own inert transceiver and receives the same complex reply. A month later she sends the signal again and a third of her implants go inert, while others still function. Panicked, Burell sends Isabelle away on a research project while she tries to regain control of the tech. Slowly Burell is able to access the implants again, but the toll is great on her own body as she uses her own systems to carry signals to the implants.

Authorisation for the construction of Babylon 5 is given, on the understanding that this will be the last of the Babylon stations. The Minbari Federation co fund the station, along with substantial contributions from the Centauri Republic. The contractors build the station systems using substandard components. Thomas Jordan is hired to work on the station. From the heart of the Great Machine, Varn watches the station being built.

Conjecture, assumes construction was authorised a year before the station came on line in March 2256. Signs And Portents and The Long Twilight Struggle establishes the Minbari co sponsored Babylon 5. A Voice In The Wilderness establishes the Centauri contribution and Varn watching it being built. By Any Means Necessary reveals substandard components were used in the systems. Grail, Thomas has worked on all five stations.

With pressure on the space available for hydroponics and oxygen reclamation, the Babylon 5 designers manage to incorporate a small Japanese stone garden calling it a "Pool for Zen skinny dipping, because you can only sit and think about it".

Lyta Alexander undergoes a medical examination that records her chronic iron deficiency.

Passing Through Gethsemane. Franklin's examination reveals she hasn't been in such good health in 5 years.

Author's note: I am assuming that Lyta's enlarged appendix and incipient hiatus hernia were gained before Divided Loyalties.

Susan Ivanova looks up and sees open skies for the last time before she is transferred to an EarthForce spaceborne facility.

The Summoning. Ivanova last saw open skies 6 years ago, assumes it was a spaceborne facility she was transferred to.

Kell meets with a Drakh and hands over DNA samples from the techno-mages ready for the chrysalis stage of their training and those ready for the Shadow tech to be implanted.

Captain Sheridan and the crew of the E.A.S. Agamemnon take part in the Karani Expedition to the Sh’lassen Sector. Spending time on Akdor, Captain Sheridan visits the fortress at Matok and explores its layout.

Conjecture, from GROPOS. Assumes the expedition was before Sheridan began his 3 year patrol near the Rim.

Captain Elizabeth Lochley is stationed on an EarthForce base near a mining colony when a rogue telepath starts messing with her people: first cheating in the casino, he later kills two EarthForce personnel when they discover he is a telepath. Unable to locate the rogue, Captain Lochley calls in Psi Cop Alfred Bester who does, saving the lives of two of her crew.

Strange Relations. Lochley’s dealings with Bester were several years ago.

Dr Laura Rosen becomes obsessed with her role as a healer, working days, nights and weekends becoming reliant on Stims to keep her going. She ignores everyones warnings until one day, she makes a mistake and a patient dies. She loses her licence to practice and with it her reason for being. Laura decides to look for alien medical technology to use as a means of regaining her licence. Her daughter Janice goes with her on her quest.

The Quality Of Mercy. Laura lost her licence 3 years ago.

Jeffrey Sinclair, accompanied by Catherine Sakai, comes to Mars to visit his friend Michael Garibaldi. This is only the second time they meet in person.

Babylon Squared. In Garibaldi’s timeflash, Lise says he has only met Sinclair twice. As Garibaldi knew who Catherine was in The Parliament Of Dreams, assumes she came to Mars with Sinclair.

Michael Garibaldi is assigned to Mars Colony security. A few days into the job, he meets Lise Hampton again. He finds the job tough, but his relationship with Lise makes it worth while.

A Voice In The Wilderness. Garibaldi recounts the early days of his relationship with Lise.

Jeffrey Sinclair and Catherine Sakai's relationship ends and both go their seperate ways.

Conjecture, from The Parliament Of Dreams. Based on Catherine's comments on how they broke up every 2 or 3 years, and that she didn't know Sinclair was in charge of Babylon 5, suggests they broke up this year.

Alwyn moves to Regula 4 along with his apprentice Carvin, joining the human colonists there.
