Spacey/Luther NEW SUPERMAN RUMORS
According to a recent interview with Kevin Spacey done by The Belfast Telegraph, the actor will once again transform into Superman’s arch-foe, Lex Luthor, in the next SUPERMAN film, tentatively titled SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL.
The interview focuses on Spacey’s career as a theatrical actor, and his work as the artistic director of the Old Vic theatre. But it does comment on the fact that Spacey will be returning to the role of Luthor in the follow-up to 2006’s SUPERMAN RETURNS. Rumor has it that Warner Brothers is looking for a “darker tone” to the next film in the Superman franchise. It is similarly uncertain if Brandon Routh, who played Superman/Clark Kent, or director Bryan Singer will be back.

Thor THOR
Last week, word came out that Kenneth Branagh was being considered to direct Marvel's THOR movie. MTV Splash Page checked in with writer J. Michael Straczynski, currently revitalizing the character in comics, to get his opinion of the potential helmer. "Honestly, I can't imagine anyone better suited to this," said Straczynski. "THOR, at his best, has always had a classical bent to the character in terms of his history, the way he speaks, and the often Shakespearean intrigues and dramas that surround him. That kind of dialogue and character needs the hand of someone who comes from a theatrical/classically trained background in order for it not to sound forced or artificial. Branagh is absolutely the perfect choice."

DOLLHOUSE
Folksinger Jonatha Brooke announced on her Web site that she and songwriter Eric Bazilian have composed the theme song to Joss Whedon's upcoming Fox SF series DOLLHOUSE, which is set to premiere in January.

THE VOICE OF DARTH VADER HONORED
Variety reports that James Earl Jones--best known to SF fans as the voice of Star Wars' Darth Vader--has been tapped to receive this year's life achievement kudo from the Screen Actors Guild.

Jeffrey’s back in fine form, but still recovering nicely from the Vorlon Virus. Tim reads a message from JMS about progress on the Lensman project, and Summer still wants more news about World War Z.

Feedbackapalooza: Or would this week better be called Garypalooza? Either way, the Vorlon is easily amused when listening to phone spam with audio effects applied to the clip.

BIG BABYLON 5 FAN PASSES

For those of you who have frequented THE GALACTIC GATEWAY (Pat Tallman and Jeffrey Willerth's website), you know Vidar Nilsen. He was a presence at the site, with his creative projects and comments in the chat room.

Ranger Barb sent this information along for posting:
Vidar was heavily involved with the Gateway and his own "Project-SI" through the years. I, for one, can not accurately express the impact that he has had on my life personally. I will always cherish my friendship with him and the joy he brought to my life. Vidar loved to laugh and was truly larger than life. I have many fond memories of Vidar from various conventions and times we spent together. I can even say that I'm responsible for taking a crazy Norweigan to his first professional wrestling match. He was truly like a kid in a candy shop that night and I'll never forget it.

If you would like to post messages of sympathy -- and memories shared, go to The Galactic Gateway.

OK, the first week of the new season is now history. A lot of the new shows have had their premieres -- and old shows have returned. What did you think? Did you catch Bruce Boxleitner in HEROES? Did you find a show or two that you are interested in? If so, which ones? I absolutely love FRINGE. It is a smart drama with a tinge of humor and absolutely wonderful acting. How about you?

Send in your thoughts and comments to sgbruckner@aol.com. I will post them on the Discussion Page for everyone to share and enjoy. There are some good ones so far. Add yours! If you see an old topic you want to respond to, go right ahead. We enjoy hearing from you.

While Andreas Katsulas (G'Kar), Rick (Biggs) and Tim (Choate) are no longer with us, we will not forget their wonderful personalities and talent -- as well as their significant contributions to BABYLON 5. Be sure to visit In Memory Of for more information about memorial efforts. Until we met again, in a place where no shadows fall.
