THE SPIRIT DVD EXTRA
Frank Miller's THE SPIRIT hits DVD and Blu-ray Disc on Tuesday, April 14th and
a clip from the "Green World" special feature is below.
Adapted from Will Eisner's comic book series, THE SPIRIT is the story of a former
rookie cop who returns mysteriously from the dead as THE SPIRIT (Gabriel Macht)
to fight crime from the shadows of Central City. His arch-enemy, The Octopus (Samuel
L. Jackson) has a different mission: he's going to wipe out Spirit's beloved city
as he pursues his own version of immortality. The Spirit tracks this cold-hearted
killer from Central City's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the
windswept waterfront... all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either
want to seduce, love or kill our masked crusader. Surrounding him at every turn
are Ellen Dolan (Sarah Paulson), the whip-smart girl-next-door; Silken Floss
(Scarlett Johansson), a punk secretary and frigid vixen; Plaster of Paris (Paz
Vega), a murderous French nightclub dancer; Lorelei (Jaime King), a phantom siren;
and Morgenstern (Stana Katic), a sexy young cop.
There's also Sand Saref (Eva Mendes), the jewel thief with dangerous curves. She's
the love of his life turned bad. Will he save her or will she kill him?

SIN CITY 2
An online rumor that Dimension Films has let the film rights for SIN CITY 2 expire
has turned out to be false. Details apparently emerged that the movie would be
financed by a private equity group and an announcement is expected soon. Robert
Rodriguez's Trouble Maker studios was still attached to produce.
Now, MTV News has debunked the story with an official statement from The Weinstein
Company attorney Bert Fields:
"TWC's rights to produce sequels to Sin City remain intact as they always have been.
Any suggestion to the contrary is complete hogwash."
Latest rumors indicate Angelina Jolie is in talks to play the female lead of Ava,
who appears in the Frank Miller graphic novel "A Dame to Kill For." It was said
that Jolie had talked to Rodriguez about the role as early as 2006, but now it
seems that the film is finally gaining momentun and the "filmmakers are trying to
get Jolie to officially commit to playing the female lead."

DISCUSSION TOPIC - STAR TREK
We have about one month before the new STAR TREK bursts upon the big screen. There
have been a lot of trailers and pictures about the upcoming movie. Personally, I
can't wait to see it. I loved the original STAR TREK, but it got a bit threadbare
at the end. With the various spin-offs, it will be good to get back to the basics
and learn more about the origins of the characters we all loved. Chris Pine and
Zachary Quinto seem perfect in their new roles. How do you feel about having a new
STAR TREK soon? Are you looking forward to it? Do you intend going to see it?

In 1999, J. Michael Straczynski allowed his original notes on Babylon 5 to be released
via his Last Word column in the Babylon 5 Magazine (Vol. 2, Issue 9). These notes were
the first written record of Babylon 5, made moments after he had his inspiration for
the series while taking a shower.
Though the magazine is long gone, on this, the 10th anniversary of this column's
publication, he wanted to share the origins of Babylon 5 again. While many fans
saw them when they were originally published, he realizes that many more have not.

JMS writes, Yes, I've written a pilot for TNT and Dreamworks entitled "Last Words."
I got the notes back last week, they're fairly minor, and things are looking very
positive at this stage. If we go to film, we'd shoot in July for the fall. If we
don't, then...well, we won't.
Once I know the end-game, I'll be sure to post it.

I am a big fan of Charlie Brown -- have been for years. There seems to be something
for everyone in any Charlie Brown story. In this one, Charlie Brown hopes to win the
motocross race, despite being "Unlucky Number 13". While there is always a great story,
each person can take away something different -- whether it be the virtue of being a
good sport, whether you win or not -- or just the spirit of participation. It is a good
way to introduce little folks to good sporstsmanship as well. It is always great when the
gang gets together -- Charlie, Snoopy, Pepermint Patty.
Also included on this the special, YOU'RE THE GREATEST, CHARLIE BROWN. Charlie is
recruited to represent his school by competing in the decathlon for the Junior Olympics.
Peppermint Patty trains Chuck in all ten events. Charlie Brown wins several events and
has a chance to win the entire Junior Olympics for his school.

BABYLON 5 MUSIC VIDEOS AND TRIBUTES
I found this message on the Babylon 5 moderated newsgroup this morning and just
had to post it so that others might enjoy the marvelous music videos created by
John Hudgens.

As some of you may know, I was hired by Joe Straczynski back in the
day to create Babylon 5 music videos for him to use at science fiction
conventions, and later to promote the show to networks. Eight were
produced over the run of the series, not including the memorial videos
I did later for Rick Biggs and Andreas Katsulas.
For the longest time, the only way to see these was if Joe or I showed
them at a convention, but now, after numerous requests from fans over
the years, Joe has given me permission me to post these online.
- This is the extended version that I did for Andreas' widow ater the
original cut was released on the net. It's never been seen online
until now.
For those of you who've never seen these, I hope you enjoy them - and
for those that have (and emailed me many times over the years about
releasing them), I hope they're as good as you remember. Working with
Joe on these videos was one of the highlights of my career, and I'll
be forever grateful to him for the doors these have opened for me. I'm
proud to have them on my resume.
